Etsy

If you read our blog on a regular basis, you have probably noticed how varied our topics and interests are. A put it very nicely in the “About The Time Machine” section when she described our posts as a “mixed bag.”

Most of you probably follow our model and have mixed interests. Because of this, many of us will hit a roadblock in our lives where we are unsure of where to find certain items to satisfy our enthuasium. No longer do we need to hunt down tiny unknown stores (although that can certainly be fun), find private specialists, or looking in millions of places. Etsy, the online shopping place for crafts and vintage has literally everything!

Let’s face it – we all have quirks about us. Most of the time, these quirks are surpressed my generic mass-market products. For example, you get a new phone and need a case to protect it. At the store there are normally these options: colors, classic patterns, and clear. Most of us will settle for one of them without a second thought. However, how about a cover made out of a timeless vintage fabric? Or out of an old heater vent or even zebra skin? On Etsy, your true personality will come through.

Okay. So if it were up to me, the entire point of this post would be just to rant on and on about how wonderful I think Etsy is. However, listening to someone rant on and on about how much they love something can often get a little annoying. So rather than listening to me talk about it, go find out for yourself!! Here’s the link: http://www.etsy.com/. They truly have something for everyone!

Spring Fashions

As the weather here is getting warmer and warmer, it is inevitable to think about spring-summer fashions! All this week I have been getting summer fashion magazines in the mail; and I am in love with everything. Even though winter is my favorite season, it is difficult to not adore some of these trends.

Bold Prints:

If there is any trend to scare some people, it is probably bold prints. Nothing draws more attention to someone than a giant colorful abstract design on their pants. However, if done right, bold prints can bring a whole new dimension to the everyday outfit.

Pastels:

Nothing is more ladylike than pastels. They are so soft and enchanting!

Peplums:

I am so happy that this trend is catching on! Peplums are absolutely adorable and flattering. The shape is extremely feminine and takes inches off your waist instantly…there is nothing better than that!

Retro:

It feels like everything right now is retro inspired, but I still cannot get enough!

Lace:

YAY LACE!!! Lace is my favorite thing ever. It is elegant, classic, and edgy all at the same time. If I could, I would make my entire wardrobe lace.

Hopefully, you have been inspired to go revamp your spring-summer wardrobe! Happy shopping!

For The Love of Dapper Gentlemen!

There are few things better in life than a well dressed man. A and I have had numerous conversations online where all we do is send pictures of men in Burberry suits back and forth…

I am not lying to you when I say that I will stop dead in my tracks and admire a man’s properly fitted pants. One particular man that stands out to me is an old high school teacher. He was by no means attractive, but every day I would pause for a moment and point out to all of my friends (girls and boys) how fabulous his pants were. Not too baggy in the rear nor too tight. Tapered down the calf and expertly hemmed. And every day their reaction would be the same…they would tell me how creepy I was.

Nothing, though, prepared me for the overwhelming joy that bespoke suits would bring to me. These suits are as custom as a suit can be. Every pattern is made to the customer’s specific measurements and numerous fittings follow until the suit fits every inch perfectly.

For my birthday this year, I’m hopefully going to get a custom made suit. Hopefully I can keep from falling over when I see the expert tailoring in everyone’s suits there. To conclude, I will share with you some pictures of (in my opinion) today’s top three best dressed men (in no order).

Mr. Scott Disick:

Although Mr. Disick is often looked down upon, I have been numbed to him by his grand style. No one else can look so preppy and yet classic at the same time. The confidence that he carries himself with only add to the perfect fit of his clothing.

Mr. Ryan Matthew Cohn:

I have mentioned Mr. Cohn’s wonderful suits briefly before, but now is a wonderful time to showcase his tremendous style. After a bit of research, I discovered that he is co-owner of New York’s Against Nature (a bespoke suit shop), and by odd coincidence, where I was planning on getting my suit made. He designs the jewelry and leatherwork for the shop.

Mr. Donald Trump Jr.:

I do not watch “The Apprentice” for the show itself, but rather, just to see Mr. Trump’s clothing. He is so elegant and had the clothing to match!
